Aims of the workshop

Compact star formations are the final stage of massive star evolutions. Thanks to systematic observations of various supernovae as well as their progenitors, our knowledge on the compact star formation has expanded remarkably in the last few years. New observational findings, on the other hand, have continuously produced new mysteries and stimulated theoretical studies. Indeed it has become ever more difficult to take the compact star formation out of the evolution of massive stars and discuss it separately from all the rest. In a sense we are forced to bring together our best knowledge obtained for different evolutionay stages in the life of massive stars. That is the main aim of the workshop. We invite both domestic and foreign experts on various aspects of massive star evolutions to exchange the most up-to-date expertise. We hope that the interdiscilinary discussions will serve as the first step to a new level of investigations into the compact star formation.
