Considering the global concerns over coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), we have decided to cancel the banquet, which was scheduled for February 27 (Thu).
(February 23, 2020)
Aim of Workshop
This workshop, one of the series we have held over the years, is aimed to gather the latest knowledge
on both macro- and microphysics of relevance for the understanding of the life of massive stars from
birth to death. The detections of gravitational waves from the coalescences of black holes and
neutrons stars as well as systematic observations of various supernovae and their progenitors have
renewed our interest in the three dimensional evolutions of massive stars, particularly in binaries.
It is all but impossible now to discuss the compact star formation separately from all the rest of
the massive star evolution and it is hence crucially important to bring together our best knowledge
obtained in different evolutionary stages of the massive star. In this workshop we invite leading
researchers on various aspects of massive star evolutions to exchange their most up-to-date expertise
to promote the investigations of the massive star evolutions to a new level.
Topics
Formations of massive stars
Multi-dimensional evolutions of massive stars
Evolutions of massive stars in binaries and multiple systems
